Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Mandolin and... CELLO!

Tom's partner Sophie Gledhill is one of London's busiest freelance cellists. Her CV includes work on West End shows (Les Misérables, Wicked, Kinky Boots, Broken Wings), major orchestras and opera/ballet companies (BBCSO, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, English Touring Opera) and pop/crossover acts including Ball & Boe, Noah and the Whale and many others.

Being a producer/engineer and cellist under the same roof has allowed us to to deliver remote cello recording even under the strictest of lockdown conditions.

We usually record cello using the mid-side microphone technique. This gives total flexibility during mixing - a stereo signal that is completely mono-compatible, and can be collapsed down to mono in the mix if required. We can deliver either a stereo file ready to top into your mix or separate M/S files. or both. Standard X-Y stereo is also available.

We are equally happy working from a fully notated part, or for pop tracks we are happy to arrange a part to your brief - please get in touch to explore this.
